It is a grain that comes from the Andes Mountains of South America. Quinoa is a plant that is grown at altitudes where corn can not grow. Although it belongs to the family of cereals but to quenopodias (beet, spinach or chard), it has been considered as such because it has been a staple for many people. Contains vitamins C, E, F and B (thiamine, riboflavin and niacin) and high percentage of calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium and zinc, while almost no sodium. Their rates are very low calorie and no danger of the appearance of parasites or insects in the summer.
