Parliament will decide in September on the ecolabelling of fish products a report that he would vote for this label and has already been adopted by the Committee on Fisheries.
The full Parliament will vote in a September report that advocates the "ecolabelling" of products in the European Union (EU). The text, written by the popular Carmen Fraga MEP, has already been adopted by the Committee on Fisheries of the European Parliament (22 votes in favor, one against and no abstentions). The paper acknowledges the difficulty of establishing an "eco-label shop" for the EU from a bureaucratic point of view. However, he argues that its use would ensure compliance with the requirements set by the Organization of the United Nations Food and Agriculture (FAO) and World Trade Organization (WTO). The vote on the report Fraga coincide with the debate on the simplification of EU fisheries policy, a proposal from French Philippe Morillon. MEP defends extending the pre-consultation period and argues that all submissions should be preceded by an analysis of environmental impact.
